Roy Theodore Gagne

DAGGETT — Roy Theodore Gagne, 70, of Daggett, passed away Wednesday morning, May 15, 2019, at the Oscar G. Johnson Medical center in Iron Mountain, Mich., surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 11, 1949, to the late Eli and Yvette (Gatien) Gagne in Daggett, Mich.

Roy served in the U.S. Army after being drafted and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Pine Timber until it closed and then worked at Island Resort and Casino until his retirement. Roy enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, camping, going on casino trips and most of all he enjoyed his family and life partner Carol.

Roy Gagne is survived by his children, William (Janet), Robert, and Christine (Jerry Kregelka). He is also survived by the love of his life, Carol Rupersburg; brothers, Bernard (Barbara) Gagne, Joseph (Louise) Gagne and Eli Gagne; sisters, Rosemary (Donald) Kleikamp, Shirley Kleikamp, Carol Dani, Joanne Lange and Pauline (Stephen) Mouford; brother-in-law, Claude Demers; grandchildren, Austin, Kaden, Korey and Owen, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vivian Demers and Mary Gagne; infant brother, Eli Gagne; sister-in-law, Joyce Gagne; brothers-in-law, Morris Lange, Ernest Dani and Edward Kleikamp.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. CST on Friday May 24, at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Tony Revord American Legion Post 244 and the U.P. Army Honor Guard rites at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. CST on Friday at church with Fr. Mark McQuesten officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Hall. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
