Lois E. Johnson

Lois was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Perkins, Mich., the daughter of Frank Harrison and Edith (Nelson) Dahlquist. She graduated from Escanaba High School. She was united in marriage to Arne Johnson on July 19, 1947, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Lois was a manger at the Gladstone Federal Credit Union and a member of the Escanaba River American Legion Post 0115 Auxiliary. She was active with her children through Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and 4-H and enjoyed camping, going to the casino, crafts, sewing country music and dancing with her husband.

Lois is survived by her children, Linda (Jim Sargent) Johnson of Rapid River, Vicki (Ed) Caswell of Brampton, Jeff Johnson of Gladstone and Tim (Carrie) Johnson of Danforth; grandchildren, Jim (Sharon) Damitz, Jennifer Nelson, Angie (Jay) Dahn, Amy (Jeffrey) Stanfill, Kelly (Kyle) Nelson, Casey Caswell, Angel Branstrom, Sam Branstrom, Kristy Branstrom, Tyler (Rachel Larson) Johnson, Cole Johnson and Marla (Pat) Pryal; great-grandchildren, Michael (Brenda) Damitz, Cody Damitz, Taylor Houlton, Lauren Nelson, Tina Dahn, Nick Nelson, Jenna Nelson, Stevie Lynn Branstrom, Patch Pryal and Ashlyn Pryal; great-great grandchildren, Olivia and Brynlee Damitz; siblings, Lil (Jerry) Novak of Chicago, Karen (Fred) Brown of Lake Bluff, Ill., Chuck (Carol) Harrison of Milwaukee and Ellyn Habner of Iron River, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Bob Harrison, daughter-in-law, Gerrilyn Johnson and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Virginia Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 5:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow services at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River. Lois will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Hill Assisted Living and Hospice for the great care they gave their mother for the last three and a half years.
