Christopher ‘Chris’ S. Rajala

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Christopher “Chris” S. Rajala, 36, of Green Bay, Wis., formerly of Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at his home in Green Bay. He was born on May 11, 1982, in Escanaba, son of Jenna (Berry) Nyman and Scott Rajala.

Chris earned his associates degree at Bay de Noc Community College in computer information systems technology. He currently worked as dock lead / supervisor at Murphy Express Logistics in Green Bay. He loved music of all kinds and enjoyed being a part of the family’s band, doing all the sound work. He recently bought a guitar and was learning to play. He was never afraid to try new things. Chris took great pride in his work, whether it was at his job, helping his family or helping others, he was always there to lend a hand.

He loved his video games and any new technology that came out, he just had to try it. Chris would spend a lot of time polishing his car because he loved to keep it looking brand new. He also enjoyed jumping in the car and just driving to see where he would end up. He loved going to new places and traveled with family when he could.

Chris was a kind-hearted son who is loved so much by all his friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and a soft spot for mom. Words cannot properly describe how much he will be missed by all of us who love him dearly.

He is survived by his parents, Jenna (David) Nyman and Scott ( Kristina) Rajala; two brothers, Adam Rajala and Kevin Rajala; two sisters, Traci (Daniel) Zini and Kelli Rajala; a stepbrother, Spencer Fennell; grandparents, Gail and Joseph McCarthy, Stanley and Pearl Rajala and Rosalill Nyman of Sweden; a very special aunt, Maggie Nyman as well as other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Berry, and paternal grandmother, Anne Rajala.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday May 7, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home (400 S. 10th St., Escanaba, MI 49829). A funeral service to celebrate the life of Chris Rajala will follow visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.
