Robert Anderson Clouse

RAPID RIVER — Robert Anderson Clouse, 77, of Rapid River, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at home with his loving wife by his side following a long illness of Parkinson’s disease. He was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Pontiac, Mich., the son of Percy and Agnes (Anderson) Clouse. At a young age, Robert’s family relocated to the Upper Peninsula and he was a 1959 graduate of Escanaba High School. On June 17, 1959, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged on May 31, 1965. Upon his return, he furthered his education and attended college. For many years, Robert sold heavy equipment and later was employed by Chicago North Western Railroad. He then was a realtor for State Wide Real Estate and Pine Tree Realty until his retirement. Robert married the former Evelyn Birch on Dec. 28, 1991, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared 27 years of marriage. Robert was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed everything the outdoors had to offer — especially hunting, fishing, and country living. He loved family time and enjoyed living life to its fullest. Robert’s sense of humor always made it a joy to be around him. Robert will be missed by all who were blessed to know him, especially his two protectors, Bingo and Sport.

Robert Anderson Clouse is survived by his wife, Evelyn Clouse of Rapid River; sons, Jason (Jenifer) Clouse of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Ryan (Amy) Clouse of Normal, Ill.; grandchildren, Jordan, Jasmine, Jake, and Alex; brother, Jerry Clouse of Kingsford, Mich.; sister-in-law, Tina Seymore of Escanaba; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Clouse; and two brothers, Terry Clouse, and Perry Clouse.
