Sharon Ann Greis

GLADSTONE — Sharon Ann Greis, 80, of Gladstone, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Escanaba on June 28, 1938 the daughter of Patrick and Dolly (VanStratton) Miron.

Sharon attended Escanaba Schools, graduating in 1956.

On Oct. 4, 1958 Sharon married Edward “Jim” Greis at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage and raised their four children.

She was a member of Holy Family Church and the Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Edward “Jim”; children, Mary (Jim) Bergner of Two Rivers, Wis., Carol (Dale) Svihl of Hastings, Mich., Lynn (Ray) Farmer of Suamico, Wis., James (Nikki) Greis of Dorr, Mich.; grandchildren, Alex and Max Bergner, Matt and Anna Farmer, and Trent and Jenna Greis; and sister, Betty Skonieczny of Greenfield, Wis.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marilyn Pinar, Rodger Miron, and Richard Miron.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will begin at 5 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.

Entombment will take place in Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to either OSF St. Francis Hospital Hospice or Delta County Cancer Alliance in memory of Sharon.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at St. Francis Hospital for their care of Sharon and their support of the family. We would also like to thank Father Emmett Norden for his words of comfort and spiritual support during this difficult time.
