Gregory (Greg) Dean Dennis

ESCANABA — Gregory (Greg) Dean Dennis, 51, of Escanaba and formerly of Cadillac, passed away on Dec. 21, 2018. Greg was born on Jan. 11, 1967 to Derwin and Gloria (Gumm) Dennis in Cadillac. He attended Marion High School, graduating in the class of 1985. After graduation, Greg worked at Emerald Tree Company for several years before he began employment at Ferrellgas (formerly known as Fuelgas) where he worked for 25 years delivering propane. After retiring in 2012 and moving to Escanaba, he began working for Larry Wedell. Greg enjoyed playing men’s slow- pitch softball, golf, bowling, mushroom hunting, and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria Dennis of Marion; his three children, Michael (Mercedes) Dennis of Cadillac, Amanda Dennis (Craig McAlary) of Escanaba, and Matthew (Danielle) Dennis of Cadillac. He is also survived three grandchildren, Madison Dennis, Kaylee Dennis, and Mason Dennis all of Cadillac. His surviving siblings are Jeffrey (Kathy) Dennis of Marion and Sandra Dennis (Bill Simon) of Washington. He is survived by the mother of his children, Tracy Wilson and his faithful companion K9 Morgan of Escanaba. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and multiple friends also are surviving.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Independent Bible Church in Cadillac with Rev. Nate Walker officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will take place in Haring Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
