Maryellen Madigan

WILSON — Maryellen Madigan, 84, of Wilson, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

Maryellen was born in Chicago on Dec. 5, 1933, daughter of Alfred and Elsa (Tischendorf) Mohnhaupt. She was raised in Chicago and was a resident of the Wilson area for the past 16 years.

She worked for Burney Brothers Bakery as a cake decorator before working as a machine operator for Contac, INC., retiring in 1996.

In 1961, Maryellen married Donald Madigan in Chicago. Together they raised their three children.

Maryellen loved cooking, baking, writing, and drawing. She enjoyed listening to classical music and going to bible study.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Among survivors are her children, John P. Madigan and Melody G. Hamilton, both of Lakemoor, Ill., and Michael R. Madigan of South Elgin, Ill.; grandchildren, Michael J. Madigan and Maggie L. Hamilton; and sister, Elsa (Cecil) DePas of Escanaba.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, two sisters and one brother.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2401 N. Lincoln Road, Escanaba. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. with Pastor Albert Schubert officiating.
