Linda Lou Nelson

VILLAGE of HOWARD, Wis. — Linda Lou Nelson, 71, Village of Howard, Wis., died Monday, May 14, 2018. She was born on July 11, 1946, in Escanaba, Mich., to Medrick and Dorothy (Gustafson) LaBelle.

Linda was a graduate of Gladstone High School, Class of 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Nelson, on June 12, 1965, in Flat Rock, Mich. Together they owned Nelson’s Country Corner in Flat Rock for 20 years. Linda was a crafty person who enjoyed doing for others. She was a great cook and baker and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Richard Nelson; her children, Rikke (Jim Wallace) Anderson, Kim (Michael) Schultz, and Ryan (Connie) Nelson; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stollberg, Alex Schauer, Brooke Schauer, Hudson Schultz, Scarlett Schultz, Sawyer Schultz, Ashton Nelson, Nathen Nelson; her siblings, Richard (Charlotte) LaBelle, Carol (Richard) Hentz, Gary (Suzie) LaBelle; brothers-in-law, Jerry Nelson and Robert (Mary Lou) DeGrand; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emma Stollberg; her parents; brothers, Harlan, Jimmy and Danny LaBelle; sister-in-law, Barb Nelson; and parents-in-law, Todd and Alice DeGrand.
