Karen L. LaMarche

ESCANABA — Karen L. LaMarche, age 75, of 6711 M.75 Road in Escanaba passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Escanaba and was the daughter of Oscar “Clarence” and Esther (Hallvorsen) Miller. The former Karen Miller married Willard “Willie” LaMarche July 20, 1963 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba. Karen was employed after high school with IDS Investments and later with Woolworths. She also ran the bookkeeping and business office for Willies Plumbing and Heating Company. Karen enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing and snowmobiling. Family was extremely important to her and she enjoyed attending the children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Karen was an awesome cook and enjoyed baking cinnamon bread during hunting season for the men to take to camp and she always had cinnamon bread for the ladies at home. She also enjoyed making meat pies at Christmas time.

Karen L. LaMarche is survived by, husband, Willard “Willie” LaMarche; daughter, Joanne (Dave) Chenier of Flat Rock; sons, Dan (Kim) LaMarche of Escanaba and Ray (Kim) LaMarche of Escanaba; grandchildren, Courtney (Jeff) Wiltzius, Nicole Chenier, Jessica Lake, Amanda Chenier, Sean LaMarche, Garrett LaMarche, Gavin LaMarche, Grant LaMarche and Grayson LaMarche; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Everly Wiltzius, Jake and Suzy Deneau, Caleb Lake and Bailey Caswell; two brothers, Mark (Mary) Miller of Escanaba, and Paul (Patti) Miller of Texas; one sister, Kris (Nick) Prica of Pembine, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 am Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on April 3, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba with Father Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the St. Thomas Catholic Church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Karen LaMarche Memorial Fund.
