Judy M. Bedard

RHINELANDER, Wis. — Judy M. Bedard, 55 of Rhinelander, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at her home. She was born on Jan. 24, 1963, in Escanaba, Mich., to Edsel and Lorraine Bedard.

Judy graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1981. She would raise her twin sons, Randy and Rick in Escanaba. Judy moved to the Rhinelander area in 2003 where she opened her sandwich shop “Subby’s” on Brown Street. She joined the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department in 2006 as a secretary and for a short time as a corrections officer. At the department, she could be found at the front desk welcoming visitors to the office.

Judy loved to spend time in the sun and on the water and was a lover of all animals, especially her dogs, Rubi and Ike. She also loved her Jeeps with the top down and hat on backwards.

Judy is survived by her sons, Randy (Jen) Ness of Escanaba, Mich., and Rick Ness of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandson, Grady Ness of Escanaba, Mich.; two sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Lippens of Escanaba, Mich., and Jeri (Rich) Gagnon of Gladstone, Mich.; and two brothers, Jack (Cindy) Bedard and Gary (Patty) Bedard, both of Escanaba, Mich. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including longtime friend, Becky (John) Sturdy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edsel and Lorraine.

The funeral mass for Judy will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at Nativity of Lord Catholic Church / North Campus (St. Joseph’s) 1360 N. Stevens St., Rhinelander. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the time of mass on Friday at the church. Interment will take place later this spring in Escanaba.
