Emily Sue Reid
REXTON — Emily Sue Reid, 35 of Rexton, died unexpectedly and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 8, 2018. She was born on Aug. 10, 1982, in Manistique to Dean and Debra (Butkovich) Reid. She graduated from Engadine High School with the class of 2000. Emily lived in Gladstone a few years, and was active in the United Methodist Church in Gladstone. She is currently employed with the Mackinac County Equalization Department as an auto CAD clerk, mapping and dealing with property descriptions, and knew she had found her lifetime employment. She was previously employed at Bay View Restaurant in Epoufette where she touched many hearts.
Emily enjoyed first and foremost being a Mom to her twin boys and extra-curricular activities. She was an avid hunter and outdoors person. Emily also loved playing Euchre, sewing, reading and watching movies with her boys. She was also a gardener, and loved the Quary at Caffey.
She is survived by her 13 year old twin sons, Kane Walter and Colt Michael; her parents, Dean and Susie Reid, St. Ignace; Debra and Joe Herbig of Casa Grande, Ariz.; brothers, Michael Reid of Huntsville, Ala., Kevin and Julie Reid, Whitelake, Mich., and her quasi-sister, Emily Outwater, Rexton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, several family members and close friends.
Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home, St. Ignace, on Friday, March 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to a fund for her sons, with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home, 240 McCann St., St. Ignace, MI 49781, who assisted with arrangements.
