Michael J. Sundell

He was born Aug. 19, 1956, in Negaunee, a son of the late Donald and Delores (Ribardy) Sundell. He was a 1974 graduate of Negaunee High School, attended Ferris State University and was a lifelong long area resident.

Mike had been employed at the Presque Isle Power Plant since 1976.

He was a member of St. Louis the King Catholic Church and the Wawanowin Golf Club. His interests included golf and attending auto shows and he was a proud owner of a Roush Mustang.

Mike is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Arens) Sundell, whom he married on June 20, 2009 in Manistique; daughters, Jennifer Tetreau and Cindy (Chris) Wright, both of Lansing, Jennifer (Sam Henry) Youngmon of Manistique and Amanda Youngmon of Gwinn; grandchildren, Vada Marilyn Wright, Atlee Sabastian Wright and Dayton David Benish; and former wife, Karen Krieger of Portland, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Sue Watts-Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Louis the King Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Glenn Theoret officiating.
