Nancy Ann Benson

CARNEY — Nancy Ann Benson, 59, of Carney, Mich., passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, surrounded by her family. Nancy Ann Janofski was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Menominee, Mich., to Fred and Arlene (DeGrave) Janofski. She worked as a department manager for the Department of Mental Health for 37 years. Nancy enjoyed riding motorcycles, campfires and spending time in her garden. Sports were a big part of her life as she enjoyed following her children in their sporting endeavors, coaching basketball and playing in the Mid County Softball League with her kids. Above all else, the time spent with her family, children and grandchildren is what Nancy cherished most. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children: Tara (Chris) Hernandez of Green Bay, Wis., Carly (Victor) Harrington of Marquette, Mich., and Jared (Danielle) Benson of Marinette, Wis.; her father, Fred Janofski of Wilson, Mich.; six grandchildren; her Michael, Mike Linder of Nadeau, Mich.; Mike’s children, Taylor and Jordyn Linder; three sisters, Donna (Len) Skrobiak of Bark River, Mich., Karen (Mike) Bagladi of Belding, Mich., and Chris (Jeff) Stage of Nadeau, Mich.; and three brothers, Fred Jr. (Annette) Janofski of Scotts, Mich., Roger Janofski of Wilson, Mich., and John (Kelly) Janofski of Carney, Mich.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Arlene Janofski, and infant sister, Diane.

Family will receive friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 1, after 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. at St. Bruno Catholic Church with Father Jacek Wtyklo officiating.
