ESCANABA — The 20th “Community Christmas Concert: A Festival of Choirs” will take place Saturday and feature six choral groups from Delta and Menominee counties.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish Catholic church at 709 First Ave. S. A free-will offering will be accepted to cover expenses and assist each participating choir, but it is not required to attend.

Singing at the event will be the Escanaba High School Chorale, the Holy Name School Choir, Remnants Barbershop Chorus, the choir of St. Joseph & St. Patrick, the First Presbyterian Church choir and the Menominee River Chorus. All six groups will sing two songs together; they will all perform independently as well.

“I very much look forward to this concert. It’s a wonderful event,” organizer Marc Tall said. “It makes my Christmas every year, and even the rehearsals are fun.”

Though this will be the 20th “Festival of Choirs,” the event took a three-year hiatus after COVID emerged. When it returned in 2023, the Escanaba High School Chorale was added for the first time.

As they have for the past couple years, the nonprofit Enhance Escanaba is supporting the concert, with members helping to distribute programs and promote and conduct the event.

Starting at $3.50/week.
