ESCANABA — OSF has expanded its campus with the official unveiling of a new clinic.

On Tuesday, OSF Healthcare St. Francis & Medical Group held an open house for the new Daniel J. Kobasic Cancer Clinic. The clinic began taking patients back in May, but was officially unveiled on Tuesday.

“We’re inviting the public in to see all of the new features that we have in our clinic (like) the additional space that we have to provide oncology and hematology services here in Escanaba,” OSF President Kelly Jefferson said.

The new clinic includes five examination rooms as well as 10 infusion bays in addition to a larger waiting area. Patients also have access to iPads for entrainment during treatment.

Director of Philanthropy at OSF, Jean Arvan said she was grateful for the support from the community.

“We appreciate everybody who came today to celebrate with us. We had members of family here with us, we had several people from Illinois here to celebrate with us, we had many of our donors here and we’re just so appreciative of their generosity and support of our cancer services here at OSF,” Arvan said.

The clinic was a collaborative effort, made possible by contributions, partnerships and donations from U.S. Senator Gary Peters, Val Hickner, Greg and Jessica Stewart, Green Bay Oncology, the Sackerson Foundation, the Community Foundation for Delta County, the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation and numerous mission partners and members of the community.

“We couldn’t have done it without them,” said Public Relations and Communications Coordinator Danielle Carlson.

Daughters of Kobasic, Danica Kobasic Stanciu and Krystal C. Kobasic, were in attendance for the ceremony and were excited to see the building with their father’s name on it.

“We are so pleased and so proud to be at this occasion,” Stanciu said.

“It is our honor to dedicate this building in my father’s tremendous memory.”

The clinic is located at 3501 Ludington Street in Escanaba. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share the beauty of the new cancer care clinic with our community,” Jefferson said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
