Lemmer Elementary School recently received two donations In memory of Ruth Dubbelde, a dedicated first grade teacher who taught at Lemmer from 1966-1986. The first donation was a book for every first grade classroom from The Lemmer Buddies (a group of retired teachers and aides from Lemmer School). The second donation was $1,500 from Dubbelde’s family and friends.A total of $100 will go to each first grade teacher for their classroom libraries and the remaining $800 will go to our library. Dubbelde passed her love of teaching down to her daughter and granddaughter, according to school officials. Shown are her two great-granddaughters, who attend first grade at Lemmer, presenting the $1,500 check to Pauline Wickham, principal of Lemmer Elementary School.
