Man sentenced for sexually abusing child

ESCANABA — A Gladstone man was sentenced to 10 months in jail for criminal sexual conduct of a minor in Delta County Circuit Court Monday.

James Louis Anderson, 58, of 15 South 3rd Street, Gladstone, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual conduct – second degree assault.

He was sentenced to 10 months in jail and credited for 130 days already served. He will be placed on probation for 5 years and will be required to register under the Michigan Sex Offender Registration for 25 years.

Anderson was arrested after the Gladstone Public Safety Department received a report that Anderson had sexually assaulted a minor child in his home on January 23.

When the Daily Press reached out to inquire on the age and sex of the minor, the Prosecutor’s Office declined to disclose the information as they felt there was a risk the child would be identified.

Anderson was ordered to pay $1,508 in fines and costs.
