RAPID RIVER — Memorial Day will once again be celebrated in Rapid River Monday. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Honor & Remember ‘The Greatest Generation’ — 75th Anniversary of D-Day.”

Many different activities will be featured in the area as part of the celebration. In the township park, activities will begin at 10 a.m., including Abra Cadabra Arcade Jumps, Splat-U-Later, a petting zoo and more. Food and refreshments will be available.

The Rapid River Lions Club will start serving hot dogs, brats and French fries at 10 a.m.

On South Main Street, the queen crowning is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. and the selection of a grand marshal is set for 12:45 p.m.

The annual parade will begin at 1 p.m. Line-up for the parade is at noon in front of the Omni Center.

A karaoke contest will take place at the Lions Club from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The contest will be followed by a raffle drawing.

A dance will be held in the park pavilion from 3 to 7 p.m. Music will be provided by Angels & Outlaws.

The Lions Club will have a KidSight mobile unit available with free screenings for children.
