More meth busts made in Manistique

MANISTIQUE — An investigation into narcotics led to the arrest of two Schoolcraft County residents and one Gladstone man on various charges relating to meth in Manistique Thursday.

Manistique Public Safety officers and the Public Safety K-9 Unit conducted a narcotics investigation at 250 N. Maple St., Manistique, at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21. Three adults were arrested on various charges including delivery/manufacture meth, use of meth, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and maintaining a drug house. Four children were present in the home and were taken into protective custody before being turned over to the Michigan Department of Child Protective Services.

All three adults were lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail after their arrest.

Tyler Robert Glasscock, 28, of Gulliver, was charged with the following counts: controlled substance – delivery/manufacture – meth, a 20-year felony and a maximum fine of $25,000; and controlled substance use meth, a one-year misdemeanor and a maximum fine of $2,000. Glasscock was arraigned before the 93rd District Court on Friday, March 22. His bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Jesse James Tahash, 25, of Gladstone, was charged with the following counts: controlled substance – delivery/manufacture – meth, a 20-year felony and a maximum fine of $25,000; and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony with a maximum fine of $2,000. Tahash was also arraigned before the 93rd District Court on Friday, March 22 and the bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Raquel Rene Vanderville, 28, of Manistique, was charged with the following counts: assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony with a maximum fine of $2,000; and controlled substance – maintaining a drug house, a two-year high court misdemeanor and a maximum fine of $25,000. Vanderville was also arraigned on March 22 and the bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety with 10 percent allowed.

The preliminary hearings for all three arrested were set for Wednesday, April 10 in Schoolcraft County District Court.

Public safety officers were assisted by the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department and Sault Tribal Police Department.
