Gulliver man killed in one-vehicle accident

MANISTIQUE — A Gulliver man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday in Schoolcraft County’s Doyle Township, according to Michigan State Police at Manistique. The driver, 57-year-old, Paul McGahan, was pronounced dead at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital later in the evening.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., troopers from the Manistique Outpost were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Port Inland Road just south of US 2. Upon arriving on scene, troopers found McGahan was not responsive. His vehicle was traveling southbound on Port Inland Road when it left the roadway, traveling into the ditch, and struck a tree.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash.
