ENSIGN TOWNSHIP — A motorcycle accident on U.S. 2 near Y.25 Road in Delta County has claimed the life of a Menominee resident, according to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was traveling westbound on U.S. 2 on Sunday, May 27, when she lost control of her motorcycle and became separated from it. The victim was not wearing a helmet and sustained severe head injuries. She was air lifted to U.P. Health System in Marquette, where she later died from her injuries.

The Delta County Sheriff Department was assisted at the scene by Masonville EMTs, Rampart EMS, the U.S. Forest Service, Ensign Township Volunteer Fire Department, Pro Towing, and Valley Med Flight.
