Community Foundation awards fall 2021 grants

ESCANABA — The Community Foundation for Delta County announced the community foundation’s fall of 2021 grants round recipients.

The following organizations receiving grants are:

Delta County Rescue Task Force – Protective equipment and medical equipment needed for use by every EMS Agency in Delta County

City of Escanaba – Brush hog for West Side Recreation Area

Escanaba Seventh Day Adventist Community and Food Community – Food Pantry

New Life Assembly of God – Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for the Community Center and Church

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area – COVID Relief for BBBS of the Bay Area

Pro-Active Grant recipients are:

Community Action Agency – Community Action Senior Heating Program

Salvation Army – Food Pantry

St. Vincent de Paul in Escanaba – Food Pantry

St. Vincent de Paul in Gladstone – Food Pantry

Bay de Noc Community College – Food Pantry

New Harvest Church – Soup Kitchen

New Harvest Church – Food Pantry

Cheryl Andzejewski, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Delta County stated, “The community foundation is able to provide funds to these entities only through the wonderful generosity of our donors who care about their community.”

Community Foundation Board Chair Robert Van Damme stated, “It is a privilege and honor to be part of an organization that is able to provide grants to a multitude of Delta County organizations that help make our area a better place for all.”

Grant Committee Chair Will Carne, Sr. said, “The Spring 2022 grant round will “open” on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 and all completed applications and requirements must be received by the community foundation no later than 3:30 P.M. (EST) on Friday, April 1, 2022 in order to be considered. Watch for a news release toward the end of February, in the Escanaba Daily Press, or check out the community foundations website at office@cfup.org” cfup.org, for an announcement of the Spring 2022 grant round.”
