Bay Sages to resume monthly meetings

ESCANABA — The Bay Sages Board of Directors has announced regular monthly meetings will resume in September 2 at 10 a.m. at Bay de Noc Community College Joseph Heirman Center.

The Bay Sages is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs for older adults in the Delta County area. Dues are $20 for the year and include monthly newsletters, coffee and rolls at regular meetings and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Guests and new members are welcome.

The September 2 meeting will feature Sue Gartland from the Delta County Animal Shelter. Topics will be the philosophy of the shelter, type of animals that are serviced at the tremendous volunteer effort that supports the shelter. Donations of paper towels, soft dog treats, bleach, cloth towels and blankets are greatly appreciated. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Attendees are advised that masks covering your mouth and nose are required for everyone on the campus, regardless of vaccine status.

On October 7 Kristyn Madalinski will discuss overcoming stress; Nov. 4 Karen Lindquist will speak on Early Houses of Escanaba pre-1930s; and December 2 Glendon Brown will present information regarding the Escanaba solar initiative. Additional information will be provided prior to each meeting.

All dues renewal payments for the 2021-22 year will be accepted at the September meeting or can be mailed to the Bay Sages Office at Bay de Noc Community College, 2001 North Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI 49829.
