Thull named outstanding graduate for Technology Division

ESCANABA — Each year, Bay College selects an Outstanding Graduate from each of the six divisions at the college. The graduate is selected by their instructors for their academic excellence, leadership and community service.

Thomas Thull was selected as the 2021 Outstanding Graduate for the Technology Division, with the award being sponsored by Verso Corporation, the Bay College Faculty Association and the Bay College Foundation.

A graduate of Gladstone High School, Thull started at Bay College in the Fall of 2019 and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his community college journey. In April, Thomas will earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Water Resource Management. He stated, “I’m so honored to be selected as the Outstanding Graduate for the Technology Division. My entire experience at Bay College has been rewarding. My studies were tough, but my hard work has paid off. I am excited to see what my future holds.”

In addition to his schooling, Thomas was employed as a tutor at Bay College, and enjoyed sharing his water tech knowledge with other students. In March, Thomas started his co-op with the City of Grand Rapids at both the Grand Rapids Water Resource Recovery Facility and the Grand Rapids Water Filtration Plant.

Bay College’s Water Resource Management Program is one of the few in the county. Students are in high demand with 100% job placement.
