Youth raises funds for Shop with a Cop

Carter McDonough, right, presents a check for $1,200 to Delta County Sheriff’s Deputy Jamie McDonough and K9 Officer Jet for the department’s Shop with a Cop program recently. Carter, 10, raised money at his fourth annual tree lighting event on Nov. 29. Local businesses, residents, family and friends donated for the cause. The Shop with a Cop program pairs area children, chosen by the child’s school, with local law enforcement for a Christmas event. The Shop with a Cop programs has been taking place in Delta County for over 20 years.
