Dogs damage roof in Escanaba

ESCANABA — An Escanaba business reported a neighboring resident of an apartment complex was allowing dogs to go on its roof Nov. 4.

According to Escanaba Public Safety Department, a business on the 1200 block of Ludington Street reported damage done to its roof at 2:12 p.m. Monday.

The complainant told officers a neighbor from an upper apartment was letting their dogs out to poop and pee on the roof.

Officers talked with the owner of the dogs.

Furnace causes smoke in home

ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — A burnt out blower motor in a furnace possibly caused smoke to fill a house in Escanaba Township Friday morning.

Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department were called to a house, located at 5613 Chaison 23.5 Road, for a possible fire at 5:23 a.m. Friday.

According to the fire department, when firefighters arrived on scene the smoke was starting to dissipate. When firefighters searched for the cause of the smoke no fire was located, however, a blower motor in a furnace seemed to be burnt out.

Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department left the scene at around 7 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
