PATH to Better Health Workshop set

ESCANABA — A PTH to Better Health Workshop is being offered at UPCAP in Escanaba starting in November.

Managing your health starts with taking care of yourself. A PATH workshop offers you a hands-on opportunity to discover solutions that work with your life and your health concerns.

If a chronic health problem or condition such as arthritis, diabetes, lupus, fibromyalgia or heart or lung disease has kept you from doing the things you want to do, you are not alone. As many as 80 percent of older adults are living with at least one chronic condition. PATH is a six-week evidence based workshop for adults of all ages or the partner, spouse or caregiver of someone who has a chronic health problem or condition. It is led by trained leaders — many who have a chronic health condition themselves — and focuses on helping participants feel better, have more control, and do the things they want to do.

This free workshop will meet once a week on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the UPCAP office, 2501 14th Ave. S., Escanaba, starting Nov. 12 and ending on Dec. 17. There is no cost to attend this workshop and all materials and a snack are provided.

Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call UPCAP by dialing 2-1-1 or register online at www.upcap.org/events. This program is being sponsored by UPCAP with support from the Lions Clubs of Michigan, a grant from the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan and community volunteers.
