GLADSTONE — There was a discharge of partially treated water at the Gladstone Wastewater Plant Thursday, according to Wastewater Plant Superintendent Rodney R. Schwartz.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., wastewater personnel discovered a partially treated discharge at the wastewater treatment plant. With a rainfall amount of 1.65 inches, the plant outfall could not keep up with the flows. DEQ and the Health Department have been notified as per the city’s permit.

The discharge ended at approximately 8:30 a.m. An estimated 9,000 gallons of partially treated wastewater was discharged to Little Bay de Noc.
