US-2 lane closures at Cut River Bridge

NAUBINWAY — Drivers on US-2 in Mackinac County should expect lane closures and brief delays next week during post-construction inspection of the US-2 Heath M. Robinson Memorial Cut River Bridge.

Starting Monday, Sept. 23, one lane of alternating traffic will be open using temporary traffic signals while Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) crews conduct hands-on inspections following the completion of a two-year structural steel repair and painting project on the bridge.

The work is expected to be completed on Thursday, Sept. 26. The inspections are weather-dependent and may continue into Friday, Sept. 27, if necessary. Inspections will be conducted from approximately 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Lanes will be cleared and traffic signals will be deactivated at the end of the work day.
