ESCANABA — A woman was arrested on drug-related charges after Escanaba Public Safety Department officers were called to Elmer’s parking lot for a woman passed out in her vehicle.

On Monday at around 7:32 a.m., officers were called to 412 N. Lincoln Road for a woman slumped over the steering wheel in a parking lot.

When officers arrived, the woman was found to be slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Officers said they were able to wake her up, and upon further investigation found her to be under the influence of drugs.

According to EPSD, upon her arrest a number of small individual baggies of suspected cocaine were found. There were also prescription medication located in the vehicle, which officers said did not appear to be prescribed to the woman.

The woman was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, possession with intent to deliver controlled substance, and possession of analogues.

The woman was lodged at the Delta County Jail.
