HYDE — State Rep. Beau LaFave will headline the Sept. 9 luncheon meeting of the U P SERA Chapter 16 at the Highland Golf Club, seven miles west of Escanaba, at noon.

This will be the annual meeting for the group of retired state of Michigan employees. All state of Michigan retirees are invited to attend. LaFave will address auto insurance legislation and other issues for the group.

In addition to LaFave, Lake Superior SERA member Mary Soper will present her “Hospital Handbook” to the group. The book grew out of a nightmare experience Soper had with hospitalization.

Menu for the luncheon includes pot roast, ham, polish sausage and kraut; vegetable, salad bar, potatoes and an Ice cream sundae bar for dessert. There is a fee to attend.
