Lorne Watson Quintet to perform at library

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library invites the public to a concert with the Lorne Watson Quintet on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. This musical group is made up of local area musicians who will be playing a mix of original chamber and jazz music. The quintet includes Patrick Booth, on saxophone, Phil Lynch on piano, Harry South on bass, Dave Ziegner, on guitar and Lorne Watson on percussion.

“We will be playing all original music and premiering two new pieces of mine,” Watson said, “One piece will allow the members of the band to improvise over percussion solo work. Overall, the evening will encompass a wide variety of sounds and musical genres created by U.P. artists.”

The concert is free and sponsored by the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library. For more information, visit the library’s website at www.escanabalibrary.org, find us on Facebook/Instagram or call 906-789-7323. The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington St. in downtown Escanaba.
