ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently bound over from Delta County District Court to circuit court in unrelated cases.

Dalton James Peterson, 18, of 4850 County 416 20th Road, Gladstone, was bound over on the following two counts: weapons – firearms – receiving and concealing, a 10-year felony with a maximum fine of $5,000; and weapons – firearms – possession by felon, a five-year felony with a maximum fine of $5,000 and mandatory forfeiture of weapon or device. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 27, 2019 in Escanaba. Peterson posted a $1,000 cash/surety bond.

John Patrick Chmielewski, 52, of 38667 Cedar Court, Sterling Heights, Mich., was bound over on the following three counts: weapons – carrying concealed, a five-year felony with a maximum fine of $2,500 and mandatory forfeiture of the weapon; operating while intoxicated – second offense notice, a five-day to one year in jail and/or 30 to 90-days community service with a maximum fine of $1,000, rehabilitative program and mandatory vehicle immobilization of not less than 90 days or more than 180 days; and alcohol – open container in vehicle, a 90-day misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $100 and community service. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 22, 2019 in Brampton Township. Chmielewski posted 10 percent of $7,500 cash bond.

Matthew Jacob Ostrander, 36, of 1118 Stephenson Ave., Escanaba, was bound over on three counts of check – no account, each a two-year felony with a maximum fine of $500. The charges stem from an incident that occurred over April 18, 2019 through April 20, 2019 in Delta County. He was also bound over on three more counts of check – no account in another case. The charges stem from an incident that occurred over April 9, 2019 and April 10, 2019 in Escanaba. In both cases, Ostrander’s bond was set at $2,500 cash/surety.

Jason Ray Ansell, 44, of 15712 VanHarbour Road, Garden, was bound over on one count of witnesses – bribing/intimidating/interfering, a four-year felony with a maximum fine of $5,000. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 7, 2019 in Garden Township. The bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000.

Emma Jean Frederick, 61, of 5105 LL Road, Garden, was bound over on one count of operating while intoxicated – third offense notice, a one to five-year felony and a maximum fine of $5,000 or probation with 30 days to one year in jail, 60 to 180 days community service, rehabilitative program and mandatory vehicle immobilization of not less than one year or more than three years.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Aug. 1, 2019 in Garden Township. Frederick was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

Graham Porter Young, 35, of 509 Minnesota Ave., Gladstone, was bound over on one count of conspiracy to commit controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (schedules one, two and three except marijuana, meth, ecstasy, and cocaine), a seven-year felony with a maximum fine of $10,000 and an additional fine of $10,000. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on April 3, 2019 in Gladstone. The bond was set at 10 percent of $30,000 cash/surety.

Garren Todd Heller, 24, of 5223 N. 20th St., Escanaba, was bound over on three counts of uttering and publishing, each a 14-year felony. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Oct. 27, 2018 in Wells Township. The bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000.

Kenneth Charles Rider, 57, of 1149 E. Bass Lake Lane, Gwinn, was bound over on one count of criminal sexual conduct – second degree, a 15-year felony. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on May 1, 2019 in Delta County. The bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.
