Bear spotted in fenced-in area
ESCANABA — Escanaba Public Safety responded to a report of a bear in a fenced-in area at the site of the former Family Fun Park in Escanaba Saturday afternoon.
The situation was reported at 8:14 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene — located at 2929 3rd Ave. N., Escanaba — officers found the bear and called the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
DNR representatives said to wait and see if the bear would leave on its own before taking further action. Police left the scene at this time and returned at 3 a.m. Sunday; when they came back, the bear had left.
