ESCANABA — At a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Edward J. Sackerson Charitable Foundation, the trustees elected to award $97,764.50 to the following organizations:

Holy Name School $65,870.48, St. Joseph/St. Patrick Church $4,790.58, Elks Major Project $1,197.65, Escanaba Lions Club – Sight and Blind Fund $1,905.79, Escanaba American Legion Baseball $ 1,000, Delta County Cancer Alliance $3,000, Community Foundation Delta County/UP State Fair $5,000, Department of Health and Human Services (Back to School Supplies-needy kids) $2,000, Escanaba Boys Tennis Team $800, Gladstone Schools Indian Education program $500, Big Bay de Noc School – playground basketball hoops $1,000, Girls Scouts Delta Bay area $1,000, Bark River American Legion Baseball $1,000, Delta Schoolcraft ISD – Great Start Summer reading program $1,000, Bay de Noc Gobblers/ National Wild Turkey Federation $1,500, Escanaba High School Hockey/Blue Line Club $1,000, Overall Showmanship Program / 4H $500, Mid Delta Beef $500, Delta County 4H Council – North Farm program $700, Bay College – Production of Wizard of Oz musical lighting $2,000, Delta County Non-Motorized Trails $500, Tri-County Safe Harbor $1,000.

The Foundation is set up for the benefit of residents of Delta County.
