Summer Benefit Concert Series returns

BARK RIVER -Sundays in summer bring music events at Northern Sun Winery as the vineyard hosts its annual Funday Sunday Benefit Concert Series.

Now in its fourth season, the “Funday Sunday” concert series on the grounds of the vineyard will bring:

– Small Potatoes, a contemporary folk duo from the Chicago area, appearing June 16;

– A repeat appearance July 21 by Genna and Jesse, a internationally traveled couple who describe their eclectic genre as “retro soul pop,” and

– Marquette’s own U.P. Gumbo, on Aug. 18 bringing back their unique version of zydeco and New Orleans-style music.

Concerts begin at 4 p.m. and proceed rain or shine. Nonprofit organizations co-hosting the concerts and benefitting from proceeds include Clear Lake Education Center (June 16), the Delta County United Way Imagination Library program (July 21) and Delta County Nonmotorized Trails (Aug. 18). Tickets are available at Northern Sun and the Delta County Chamber of Commerce in Escanaba and from representatives of the co-hosting organizations.
