Growing U.P. Ag Association meeting set

ESCANABA — The Growing U.P. Agriculture Association (GUPAA) and Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) will host an annual meeting and educational program highlighting sandhill crane ecology and crop damage management. The event will take place April 18 from 11 a.m. 3 p.m. Eastern at the Heirman University Center, Room 952 at Bay College in Escanaba. Presentations will be made by GUPAA, MSUE, the International Crane Foundation, USDA Wildlife Services and Arkion Life Sciences, maker of Avipel crane repellent.

There is a fee for attending this event, which includes annual membership dues for GUPAA and lunch. Corn growers participating in the afternoon program will be invited to participate in a demonstration of Avipel crane repellent seed treatment, receiving free product.
