Local radio station has new owners

ESCANABA — Escanaba radio stations WDBC-AM 680 and WYKX-FM 104.7, Aurora Media, LLC has assumed management and operations through a local marketing agreement as of Jan. 1, pending FCC approval of the sale. Aurora Media LLC, is acquiring the stations from KMB Broadcasting, Inc., which has owned the stations for over 40 years. The stations have won numerous prestigious awards under their ownership.

Aurora Media is owned by Todd Mohr and Janine Gregorski-Mohr. The Mohrs have 35 years of radio station experience, most recently owning stations in Mainstay, Ludington and Traverse City.

Todd identifies as an “old-time radio guy” who loves local radio and what it brings to local communities. He feels that local radio is a glue that can bring an area together and he has seen first hand that local radio is an essential service in informing and entertaining people from others who live, work and play in the same region.

For WDBC-AM and WYKX-FM, Todd has said that, “it is our plan to build on the legacy of these great radio stations, and we look forward to serving our listeners and local business’ in Escanaba, Delta County, and the surrounding area.”

WYKX-FM programs Country as Kix Country 104.7 and WDBC AM 680 programs Oldies. Both stations carry local news, weather , sports, and local information, and will continue to provide the same excellent programming and services as they have the the last 40 years.
