Kiwanis Christmas tree lighting tonight

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis Club will hold its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony tonight at 8:15 p.m at the Gladstone Beach House. The tree will be lit with Honor and Remembrance Lights recognizing individuals who have lights purchased in their names.

This ceremony will immediately follow the Gladstone Old Fashioned Christmas festivities held in downtown Gladstone. Santa will be present and members of the Gladstone High School Choir will lead us with Christmas Carols. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Honor and Remembrance Light request forms are available at Elmer’s County Market, Viau’s Supermarket, Pat’s IGA, Gladstone City Hall and Rapid River Mini Mart.

Individuals honored or remembered with lights will have their name posted at the Kiwanis website as the names are received. The tree will be lit from dusk until dawn each night through Jan. 9.
