Just Cruizin’ car club show today in Norway

NORWAY — The Just Cruizin’ car club will hold its annual car show on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds, located on US 8 in Norway.

Including classic cars, trucks and motorcycles, there will also be a display of vintage tractors. There is no admission for spectators, but all car show entrants are asked to make a donation at time of registration. The first 125 cars will receive a commemorative dash plaque to display and be entered into a drawing for two special door prizes.

Registration is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with presentation of first and second place trophies in twenty-two classes and Best of Show held at 2 p.m. New this year are three trophies handcrafted by the students of the Dickinson-Iron Vocational Center’s Automotive class. These students will assist the day of the show and also select their trophy winners.

Activities will include a presentation from Michigan State Police Trooper Rossler and his canine partner Nikko from noon until 1 p.m., members of the Norway Volunteer Fire Department with the Fire Safety Smoke House, face painting, race car bounce house, and games and contest throughout the day. The club’s hospitality tent along with food, beverages and ice cream concessions will be available.

With a portion of the proceeds from this event, the club is able to present the Dickinson-Iron Vocational Center’s Automotive classes with two scholarships.
