Week 4 of Y’s summer day camps begins Monday

ESCANABA — Northern Lights YMCA has kicked off the summer with three weeks of summer day camp. Week 4 of camp begins on Monday, July 9. “We have a fun line-up for the remainder of the summer” said Katey Huber, youth program coordinator, “We will come back to camp with a week of ‘Fun on Wheels’, followed by our ever popular ‘Incredible Edible’, ‘Weird Science’ is next and ‘Survivor’ week closes July.”

The Gladstone site for summer day camp has been enjoying the sun in Van Cleve Park. This location offers a natural setting for day camp with a beach, playgrounds, tennis courts, baseballs fields, and large green spaces for games. “The Gladstone group has had the opportunity to try new activities, like Geo-caching, and grow as a close-knit group. It has been a very unique experience,” said Huber.

Camp Harstad is also off to a fun start for their summer. They have been able to participate in weekly field trips, visit from Rotarians (Escanaba Rotary owns and funds Camp Harstad), swim at the Y, and enjoy their days outside near Lake Michigan.

Three is a fee to attend camp. To register call 789-0005.
