MANISTIQUE — The Schoolcraft County Community Foundation will be awarding mini-grants at its May meeting.

Deadline for applying for a mini-grant is March 31. Application forms are available at the Pioneer Tribune, on the foundation’s Facebook page, by e-mailing sccommunityfoundation@gmail.com, or by writing to the foundation at P.O. Box 90, Manistique, MI 49854.

In addition to 16 designated, or “donor advised,” funds, the community foundation may provide mini-grants from an unrestricted fund. Deadlines for applications are March 31 and Sept. 30 of each year.

Since it was established in 1994, the SCCF has awarded more than $139,000 in mini-grants for a variety of causes, including education, historical organizations, medical facilities, senior citizens’ activities, area beautification, youth sports and recreation, arts and cultural events, and social welfare programs, as well as three scholarship funds.
