ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently bound over from Delta County District Court to circuit court in unrelated cases.

Scott Joseph Kane, 55, of 1414 S. 13th St., Escanaba, was bound over on one count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, third offense, a five-year felony with a maximum fine of $5,000, and was bound over on one count of driving on a suspended license, second or subsequent offense, a one-year misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $1,000. The charges stem from a Jan. 20, 2018 incident in Escanaba. Kane posted a $2,000 bond and was released from police custody.

Tara Marie Minthorn, 32, Spalding, was bound over on three counts of uttering and publishing, each a 14-year felony. The charges stem from incidents in Delta County from July 27-Aug. 5, 2017 when three checks were forged or altered in the amounts of $29.81, $58.51 and $32.73. Minthorn later posted $1,500 (10 percent of a $15,000 bond) and was released from police custody. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim. She was also ordered to have no alcohol or illegal drugs. Minthorn must submit to random drug testing and cannot enter bars. Six additional counts of uttering and publishing that were originally authorized against Minthorn, were dismissed.

Dates will be set in circuit court for the above individuals to make a plea or schedule a trial.
