ESCANABA — Bay College Training and Development will be hosting an eight-hour annual MSHA Refresher course of Part 46 and 48 of the Mine Act, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The program covers the annual training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR parts 46 & 48 (companies training under Part 46 must have an approved training plan). If you are an owner or employee of shell dredging, sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, and surface limestone mines, you must receive annual training under 30 CFR parts 46 and 48. All attendees must be “experienced miners” and have completed their 24-hour New Miner training. Training will be conducted through Michigan Technological University’s Michigan Mine Safety & Health Training grant.

Participants can choose to attend on Wednesday, Feb. 7, Thursday, Feb. 8, or Friday, Feb. 9, and training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The training will be held at the M-TEC, located at 2000 North 30th St. Escanaba. There is a fee to attend with lunch included. Deadline to register is Feb. 2.
