Column: Businesses join the Chamber

ESCANABA — The Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce provides an avenue for our businesspeople to play a leadership role in building a healthy, vibrant community. We are a partner to every community, every business, and every citizen.

When a business joins the Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce, they become part of a county-wide network of businesses that have come together to promote quality of life in our area through a healthy business climate. This type of network is more important than ever during these uncertain times.

During its regularly scheduled board meeting held on July 15th, twelve businesses were presented and approved for membership by the Delta Chamber Board of Directors. Because of the large number, today I will highlight half of them, with the others to be featuring in an upcoming article.

Eades Escape is a beautiful vacation rental located at 1520 Lake Shore Drive, Gladstone. Owner, Christine Eide, originally from Escanaba, has long dreamed of owning a home in the area. That dream became a reality earlier this year and since her family can only use it a month or two out of the year, they decided to make it a vacation rental! Because of the yard spacing and parking this is also a great venue for small events. Please call 602-663-2235 if you are interested in hosting a shower, yoga class, or small reunion.

Freshwater Tavern is located in the Terrace Bay Inn, a long-standing Chamber Member. This beautiful restaurant offers customers comfort food with a twist and the opportunity to enjoy the amazing views of Lake Michigan. Stop by 7146 P Road, Gladstone or call 906-786-7554 today!

Golden Acre Kennels is a dog boarding facility. They take care of your dog while you are on vacation! The kennel offers a large play area with social interaction, warm, comfortable kennels, and suites for your dog to rest. Air conditioned in summer, in-floor heat in winter. Clean, friendly facility located at 3685 9th Lane, Bark River. For a complete list of services call 906-786-5308.

Michigan Planners is proud to be a third-generation employee benefits agency. Their foundation, growth and future are rooted in exceeding their clients’ service expectations. While the employee benefits industry has continually evolved, so has Michigan Planners and the services that they provide to clients, their employees, and their families. You will find managing partner Mary Feuerbach, at 1615 Ludington Street, Suite B, Escanaba, ready to help you with your employee benefit needs. Call 906-553-2677.

When asked why they joined the chamber, Feuerbach said, “Joining the Chamber was a natural selection for Michigan Planners. The Chamber creates an environment to foster business prosperity and advocates for businesses across the state. They provide meaningful networking opportunities for likeminded individuals to connect. Chamber members have an increased credibility in the eyes of the public and the Chamber provides discounts and resources to members, additional marketing opportunities and professional development events.”

The Chamber takes pride in its membership whose specialties range from local retail, commercial and industrial businesses, as well as professionals and other citizens in Delta County and surrounding areas interested in the concepts of business development, community improvement, and cultural and environmental enhancement. As we have for the last 100 years, we remain committed to doing all we can to support our Waterfront Community for years to come.
