Hook joins OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital

ESCANABA — OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is pleased to officially welcome William Hook, MD, to their staff.

While Dr. Hook has been serving on the OSF St. Francis Hospital Medical Staff for six years, providing call coverage in the obstetric and nursery unit, he will soon become an employee of OSF HealthCare. He has been named the director of medical services at OSF St. Francis Hospital. In addition to his new administrative role, he will provide family medicine services in the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine practice at OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group.

Dr. Hook received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and biological science from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Air Force and served as a B-52 pilot, aircraft commander, flight commander and instructor pilot. He was later accepted into the Health Professions Scholarship Program and re-commissioned into the Air Force Medical Service.

He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Hook completed his residency in Family Medicine and served as Chief Resident while in the Air Force Reserve. After residency, he practiced family medicine and served in many leadership roles, including chief of medical staff at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.

Dr. Hook has been serving the Delta County community since 2012, when he and his family settled in the Upper Peninsula and he began practicing family medicine at U.P. Health System- Doctors Park. Dr. Hook looks forward to his new role with OSF HealthCare and continuing to provide compassionate care to this community.

Located at 3409 Ludington Street, Suite 203, Dr. Hook will begin seeing patients on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group Family and Internal Medicine practice in Escanaba.
