Bender – Traub

ESCANABA — Rebecca Bender and Jesse Traub were united in marriage during an 11 a.m. ceremony held on the shore of Pleasant Lake and officiated by Rev. Eli Bender and Juliet Traub on July 2.

Rebecca’s parents are Brad and Cindy Bender of Escanaba and Jesse’s parents are Jim Traub and the late Pari Traub, of Nashville, Tenn.

The couple met at Michigan State University, where Jesse completed his PhD in plant science. He is now employed by MSU. Rebecca graduated from Escanaba High School in 2009, received her civil engineering degree from Michigan Tech University, and is now completing her master’s degree through MSU. She is employed by the Jackson County Conservation District.

Following the ceremony, the couple and their families welcomed and entertained guests at an outdoor reception held in the Pleasant Lake Park pavilion.

After their honeymoon travels, the couple resided in Jackson, Mich., and are now dividing their time between Jackson and Escanaba.
