Berro – Detwiler

TRAVERSE CITY – Laura Lynn Berro became the bride of Robert Stephen Detwiler during an outdoor ceremony at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City on Aug. 15.

The bride is the daughter of Diane and Lyle Berro of Escanaba. Berro graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 2002, Central Michigan University in 2008, and Oakland University in 2012 with a master’s degree in special education. She is employed by Traverse Bay Intermediate School District and teaches students with autism.

The groom is the son of Jody and Ken Berg and Steve Detwiler of Traverse City. Detwiller graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 2001, and the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 with a master’s degree in architecture. He is employed by Cornwell Architecture in Traverse City.

Serving as matron of honor was friend, Carrie Moberg. Bridesmaids were friends Ashley Richards, Ashley Davis, Sarah Schopieray, Jennifer Flynn, and, sister of the groom, Lindsey Jones.

Serving as best men were Ross Williams, cousin of the groom, and Matt Boyd, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were friends Brent Kratochvil, Andy Kay, step-brother of the groom, Ryan Berg, and brother of the bride, Travis Berro.

Long-time friend of the bride, Amy Shreve performed the reading.

Following the ceremony, the couple and their families welcomed and entertained guests at a reception held at Kirkbride Hall, part of the Village at Grand Traverse Commons.

The couple will be taking their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic in March and are making their home in Traverse City.
