Bastian – Thompson

ESCANABA – On Aug. 1, Beverly Bastain, daughter of Rosella Bastian, and Michael Thompson, son of Martha Thompson, were wed at Saint Stephen Episcopal Church in Escanaba.

The Hawaiian-themed ceremony was held at 2 p.m. with Bishop Rayford Ray officiating. A reception followed at the Eagles Club in Escanaba.

The bride’s sister, Joyce Mularz, served as Beverly’s maid of honor, and the bride’s niece, Cindy Mularz, was a bridesmaid.

Warren Thompson, the groom’s brother, served as Michael’s best man, and Greg Thompson, the groom’s brother, was a groomsman.

Michael Mularz, the bride’s nephew, and John Thompson, the groom’s nephew, ushered the guests at the ceremony.

Beverly and Michael’s flower girl was Layla Mularz, the bride’s great-niece, and ring bearer was Joey McCormmic, the bride’s great-nephew.

Beverly graduated in 2000 from Bay College in the field of child development and is now retired, and her husband, Michael, is employed at the Island Resort and Casino.

The couple celebrated their honeymoon by traveling downstate.

They plan on residing in Escanaba.
