ESCANABA – Deanna Carolann Bougie became the bride of Joseph Philip Panatera during a Nuptial Mass held at Saint Joseph & St. Patrick Parish on June 13, 2015. Celebrant was the Reverend Eric E. Olson.

The bride is the daughter of David and Susan Bougie of Escanaba. Deanna is a 2005 graduate of Escanaba Senior High School and 2010 graduate of Northern Michigan University. She completed graduate studies in Business Management and is a Project Manager for the International Law Firm of Baker & McKenzie, headquartered in downtown Chicago, Ill.

The groom is the son of Philip and Maureen Panatera, Chicago, Ill. Joseph graduated in 2001 from Mt. Carmel High School, Chicago, Ill. and furthered his education at Winona State University. Joseph is in law enforcement and is employed as a deputy sheriff with Cook County, Ill.

Deanna was driven to church in a classic 1955 Chevy Impala. She was then escorted by her father while carrying a bouquet of purple calla lilies that held a crystal broach belonging to her late maternal grandmother.

Serving as Matron of Honor was friend, Kendall Kennedy, Palm Springs, Fla. Maid of Honor was Ashley Gerou, Chicago, Ill. Bridesmaids were friend, Lisa Garland, Colo.; niece, Amanda Gray, Marquette, Mich.; and Sofia Panatera, niece of the groom, Chicago, Ill.; Regina Bougie, sister of the bride, Lake Charles, La.; and sister-in-law of the groom, Sarah Panatera, Chicago, Ill.

Serving as best men were Tony Panatera and Patrick Panater, brothers of the groom, Chicago, Ill. Groomsmen were friends, Jeff Messina, Chicago, Ill. and Marty Quinn of Calif. Also standing were cousins of the groom, Jerry Schumacher and Brian Schumacher, both of Chicago, Ill.; brothers of the bride, Timothy Bougie, Escanaba, Mich. and David Bougie-Zambon, of Marquette. Ring Bearers were Liam and Luke Bougie, nephews of the bride, Lake Charles, La. Hayden Gray, Marquette, cousin of the bride, served as usher.

Following the wedding ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Terrace Bay Inn. After a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple are at home in Chicago, Ill.
